We all go into workouts with our own set of goals and expectations, and most of us have wondered how often you should work out. Maybe you lift for the gains. Maybe you run for the mental health benefits. Maybe you love the serenity of yoga and the aggression of boxing.

But how many times should you workout in a week? Many of us have certain ideas in our heads about what works best to keep us strong and healthy. Is it four days a week, three days a week? Is two enough?

In this article, I discuss the ideal exercise frequency in order to reach your peak performance.

So how many times should you workout in a week? 7 is the magic number. Working out on a daily basis or 7x a week can be beneficial to your health.

Well, it doesn’t mean you have to go to a gym to lift heavy weights on a daily basis. What I mean is to learn how to enjoy the health benefits connected with daily exercise by performing the right type of activities that suit you. It may include running, biking, swimming, mountain climbing, and many more.

Even Mayoclinic.com states that everyday exercise can have many benefits. This includes the following:

  • Improve your mood

  • Control your weight

  • Boost your energy level

  • Lower your hypertension

  • Reduce cardiovascular disease risk

  • Make you sleep better at night

There are plenty of reasons to workout every day that have nothing to do with weight, and everything to do with your overall health and satisfaction in life. Any activity is better than none at all. What’s most important is making regular physical activity part of your lifestyle.
