This week let’s chop it up a bit and talk about how we can move to our best version while remaining at peace within ourselves. Sometimes the journey can seem a bit long and frustrating, but there’s many lessons in the grind.
’m gonna ask you to do a shift in thinking. Whenever the grind gets a little difficult (or maybe even a lotta difficult) I want you to make a paradigm shift and ask yourself, how is this situation that seems like a set back, really a set up for something greater coming down the pipe? Once you get your brain wrapped around that thinking, you start to look for the good in every situation. Give it a shot.
Here’s the thing we really need to remember in today’s connected world: RUN YOUR OWN RACE! I love social media, however, it’s a tool to be used for good, and not creating stress and stirring up comparisons. What we see with social media platforms are the commercial in someone’s movie 🎥. I.e., we see the best parts to sell you on the movie. Enjoy it, but stop thinking they have it better. Make each day your best day. Then eventually days turn into years. Great years make a great, self-actualized life.
Human beings have a need for growth, contribution and significance, which is why we seek out higher mountains to climb. However, we also have a glitch where we want it NOW! But I ask: are you truly prepared for the big, hairy, and audacious goal you seek? Remember, sometimes nothing fails like success that comes too quickly, and with great success and power, comes great responsibility! So enjoy the quiet times of the grind. They are preparing you, and you should be preparing for true greatness!
It was about shedding that feeling of lack and incorporating that feeling of being and having enough while you ascend your pyramid to self-actualization. It’s about loving the process, realizing that the process is the real fun. It’s the grind we really love, because it’s those times of wanting that makes it’s so intriguing and exciting! Human beings love growth and contribution, which explains why once we get “there”, the taste often doesn’t linger as long as we’d hoped. Pursue, but most importantly, Enjoy the journey!
