The first few days of the year symbolizes a new beginning for many people. It is a perfect time to clean out the failed resolutions from the previous year and a chance to do better at it this year. It’s also that time of the year again where we see the biggest number of people applying for gym membership. However, most of these people abandon their fitness goals after a short time. So, how can you stop this madness? this insanity? In today’s Humpday Hustle video, allow me to discuss why you should/want to exercise that will help you to stay consistent on your fitness goals.

Many people begin an exercise program early days of the year, but abandon it quickly. In fact, 90% of those folks were no longer coming to the gym by March. Why is that? What happened to all those people who made a resolution to “get back in shape?” There are many possible reasons why they are not exercising constantly. Some of them may find it hard to stick to a new habit (exercising), while some of them gave up because of pain, disappointment, lack of progress, and unmet expectation.

So how can you stop this insanity? Ask yourself why did you join the gym? Why did you workout in the first place? Easy right? Here’s a couple of reasons why exercising regularly is a good I mean, great idea. Let’s get started:

1. Put the odds in your favor- One day, you’re going to do something suddenly, and you want to do it safely and carefully. On other words, exercising consistency helps you stay prepared for any unforeseen circumstances.

2. Longevity- Few hours of exercise every week will help you live longer. In fact, a recent NIH study finds that physical activity extends life expectancy as much as 4.5 years!

3. Self-Esteem- While you’re increasing muscle mass, boosting oxygen capacity, and improving muscle tone, a side benefit of exercising regularly is an increased in self-esteem. Are you confident with your body? Do you love what your body looks?
